## What is DirectorDeck?

DirectorDeck is an AI-powered presentation platform that transforms the way ideas are communicated. Instead of producing static slides, DirectorDeck produces **cinematic experiences** — presentations with professional visual design, flowing transitions, and AI-generated imagery that match your content.

Whether you are starting from scratch or redesigning an existing deck, DirectorDeck handles the heavy lifting: structure, design, transitions, and visual assets are all generated automatically, then refined through an intuitive editor.

## How it works

1. **Describe your deck** — Provide a prompt (e.g., "A 10-slide investor pitch for a climate-tech startup") or upload an existing PPTX file.
2. **Let the AI build** — DirectorDeck generates slides with titles, content, visual direction, and transitions.
3. **Refine in the editor** — Adjust copy, swap layouts, change themes, and re-render individual slides without regenerating the whole deck.
4. **Export** — Download your finished presentation as PPTX, PDF, or video.

What is DirectorDeck?


## Before you begin

Sign up at [the sign-up page](/auth/sign-up) to create a free account. New accounts receive a credit bonus so you can explore AI generation without entering payment details upfront.

## Step 1: Create a new presentation

From your dashboard, click **New Presentation**. You have two starting points:

- **Generate from prompt** — Describe your presentation in natural language. Specify the topic, number of slides, audience, and tone. For example: *"A 6-slide product overview for enterprise buyers, professional tone."*
- **Upload a file** — Upload an existing PPTX or PDF. DirectorDeck will analyze the content and produce a cinematically redesigned version while preserving your original structure and key points.

## Step 2: Configure generation options

Before generating, you can set:

- **Number of slides** — Choose how many slides to produce (subject to plan limits).
- **Web search** — Enable this to let the AI pull in current facts, statistics, and context relevant to your topic.
- **Visual style** — Select a theme direction or leave it as AI-chosen.

Click **Generate** to start. Generation typically takes 1–3 minutes depending on the number of slides and enabled features.

## Step 3: Review the generated deck

Once generation completes, you will see a preview of your slides with:

- Generated titles and body copy
- Slide layout and visual design
- Transition styles between slides
- AI-generated images where applicable

Scroll through the preview. If the overall structure or direction is off, you can regenerate the whole deck. If only a few slides need work, move to the editor.

## Step 4: Edit in the slide editor

The editor lets you:

- **Edit text** — Click any text element to modify it inline.
- **Re-render a slide** — Change the prompt for a single slide and re-render without touching the rest of the deck.
- **Swap layouts** — Choose from alternative layout options for any slide.
- **Adjust transitions** — Change or remove the cinematic transition before any slide.

Changes to individual slides consume credits only for those slides.

## Step 5: Export your presentation

When you are satisfied with the deck, click **Export** and choose your format:

- **PPTX** — A standard PowerPoint file you can open in Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Keynote.
- **PDF** — A fixed-layout PDF for sharing or printing.
- **Video** — A rendered video with all transitions and animations.

## Credits and plan limits

Each AI feature consumes credits. The credit cost is shown before you confirm any action. Check your credit balance in the top navigation bar at any time. When credits run low, purchase more from **Settings → Billing** or upgrade to a higher plan.

Welcome to DirectorDeck! This guide walks you through creating your first cinematic presentation in minutes.

## 1) Create a Presentation

From your dashboard, click **New Presentation**. Choose one of two starting points:

- **Describe your deck** with a prompt (e.g., "A 5-slide pitch for a clean-energy startup").
- **Upload a PPTX** if you already have slides and want a cinematic redesign.

## 2) Choose Your Options

Pick the number of slides, enable web search if you want external research, and start generation. DirectorDeck will build structure, content, and a visual direction.

## 3) Review and Edit

Use the editor to refine copy, tweak layouts, and adjust themes. You can also re-render individual slides without regenerating the entire deck.

## 4) Render and Export

When you're happy, render the deck and export to **PPTX**, **PDF**, or **video**.

## How DirectorDeck Billing Works

DirectorDeck uses a credit-based system that gives you flexibility in how you create cinematic presentations. Credits are consumed when you use AI-powered features like slide redesigns, cinematic transitions, and image generation.

When you sign up, you'll receive a generous credit bonus to explore what DirectorDeck can do. From there, choose a plan that fits your workflow.

## Subscription Plans

We offer tiered monthly plans designed for different use cases:

- **Starter** — For occasional presenters who want to elevate key presentations
- **Pro** — Our most popular plan, ideal for regular presenters who value polished, cinematic slides
- **Studio** — Built for teams with shared credit pools and admin controls

All paid plans include bonus credits on top of your base allocation. Higher tiers unlock better bonus rates, making each credit more valuable.

## Credit Rollover and Caps

Unused subscription credits roll over month-to-month, so you never lose what you don't use. To keep accounts healthy, subscription credits are capped at approximately two months' worth of your plan's allocation.

Need credits that never expire? One-time credit packages are available for purchase and have no cap or expiration.
